Will a good clear silicone seal water leaks in my gutter seams?

If so what silicone is the best all around? Will a good clear silicone seal water leaks in my gutter seams?
After installing metal seam roofs and gutters, the company I work with uses a polyurethane caulking compound known as ';NP-1';. This material is engineered for 25 years, and remains pliable over its life span. You can get this material at any roofing supply company. It costs more than what you get at hardware stores, but it is worth the cost. Will a good clear silicone seal water leaks in my gutter seams?
RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) silicones will do the job, and that is the type found in caulking tubes. These are made by GE, Dow and several major chemical companies. However, what you want to seal must be dry and thoroughly clean. Good prep is a must.

Don't use ';siliconized acrylic'; caulk, it's not a silicone seal.

Another product is the butyl rubber type. It sticks and seals well, but it is very difficult to use and clean up. Some hardwares might recommend it, I would avoid it.

There are also some materials specifically made to seal metal flashings that are more of a professional roofing/guttering product. These are easy to use and very good, but not found in hardware stores. Check your phone book for a wholesale supply company selling guttering or roofing, and give them a call.
Use a clear or white (whichever color they are)

that is a 20 or 30 years caulk.
use gutter caulking
manufactureres rubber seals would be more reliable, sealants will dry out in time
the seams will need to be really clean for it to work. it is best to seal the seams when putting the gutters together. best seal would be to buy gutter seal from a home or roofing supply house. it's extra thick and gooey and seems to bond better than silicone. good luck.
