How do you remove clear silicone caulking from painted window sash?

Already tried scraping with razor. Will probably have to repaint, so using a solvent is a possibility? How do you remove clear silicone caulking from painted window sash?
you really will have to repaint, or touch up where you peel it off. If it doesn't peel off you'll have to scrape it just like you're doing. You could follow right behind with a touch up brush if the older paint is still a fresh color and get the whole job done at once. How do you remove clear silicone caulking from painted window sash?
Just wanted to point out that silicone is not paintable. Silicone also doesnt stick to glass all that well after it is fully cured. If it takes paint and is not scrapable then it probably isnt silicone. Home depot and lowes have a caulking remover that works well on latex. The only other type of clear I can think of is an elastomeric rubber that you will only remove by scraping there is no solvent for this type after it is fully cured.
I would try mineral spirits first. If that doesn't work, I'd try turpentine. And if that doesn't work, I'd try acetone (nail polish remover). If none of these products work, you'll have to sand it off.
